What Does a Dental Assisting Job Entail?

Dental assistants are often the first face patients see after leaving the reception area. Job duties vary by state, but include:

  • Ensuring patients are comfortable before and during their treatments.

  • Completing dental pantographs.

How Long Does It Take To Become a Dental Assistant?

This answer varies by the school you select. At the American Institute of Dental Assisting (AIDA), courses are 13-weeks long. At the end of the 13-weeks, you will receive certifications in RHS (radiology health and safety) and ICE (infection control exam) through DANB (dental assistant national board). Once certified, you can apply for open positions in over 39 states throughout the country including Colorado.
